Funeral hall, Nové Město na Moravě

The design of the new ceremonial hall follows the principle of a composed scene, creating a solemn space imbued with an atmosphere of reconciliation, hope, and comfort, enhanced by diffused light filtering through the vegetation. The building integrates sensitively into the cityscape, the pond’s shoreline, and connects the existing and future cemetery.
The ceremonial hall provides full amenities for both visitors and staff, harmonizing seamlessly with the surrounding nature. The natural transition between the city and the cemetery is reinforced by planting native trees. The hall is designed to reflect seasonal changes in light and vegetation, emphasizing its solemn character while prioritizing sustainability through blue-green infrastructure.
